INTRODUCTION
Siedle has had a long history of producing products that are beautifully crafted, well-engineered and highly diverse. This history has not only produced an extremely wide range of previous door and gate entry systems products, but also served as a basis for the extensive set of current products.
A detailed description of all of Siedle’s modern components would result in an essay the size of their catalog (which can be downloaded here). Consequently, this introduction to Sidle is intended to provide a brief overview of the basic categories of products, the current product lines and the colors (or finishes) available within each of those lines.
Siedle’s product offerings revolve around three basic categories of equipment: Entry stations, inside stations and app integration. While every Siedle system revolves around a central controller, each of these controllers is custom assembled at the factory to address the specific requirements of the system. These system controllers are modular in nature and capable of being expanded or modified to enable new functions at a later date if required.
Each of the three basic categories of equipment are described below.
ENTRY STATIONS
A Siedle entry station is a security and communication device commonly installed at building or property entrances. It typically features a camera, microphone, and speaker combination that enables occupants to visually and audibly communicate with visitors outside. When equipped with an access control module such as a keypad, card reader or Bluetooth interface, these units also enable homeowners to control who can enter a room or building by verifying the person’s identity and opening the door for authorized individuals.
With the exception of Siedle’s Compact product line, each of their three other lines of entry stations are modular in nature, enabling the client to specify the required functions for a given application. It should be noted that while Siedle’s products are modular in nature, it is usually difficult, if not impossible, to add modules at a later date due to the fixed form factor of each entry station.
The four categories of Siedle entry stations include the Siedle Compact, Siedle Vario, Siedle Classic and Siedle Steel line. Each entry station category is discussed below:
SIEDLE COMPACT ENTRY STATIONS
The Compact series is the most cost-effective of Siedle’s entry stations, with a fixed set of functions. Each unit has a stainless steel face and is available in both a flush and surface mounted model.
All Compact entry station includes call buttons and a speaker. The audio-only model is offered in a combination of one to four call buttons, while the video model is available with in a one or two-button version. In addition to this feature set, the unit can be equipped with a camera that has the following specs:
Resolution: 550 TV lines
Lens: 3.7 mm
Angle of View: 65°Horizontal, 50° Vertical
There are no access control features (keypad, card reader, etc.) available in the Compact series. However, all Compact entry stations are compatible with Siedle app-integration components. The audio-only entry stations include an illuminated blank information field, typically populated with the client’s name or address.
The dimensions of the surface-mount model are as follows: 3.2”(w) x 8.9”(h) x 1.1”(d)
The dimensions of the flush-mount model are as follows: 3.3”(w) x 10”(h) x 1.3”(d)
(Note: The depth of the flush mount model is due to the projection of the camera.)

SIEDLE VARIO ENTRY STATIONS
The Vario series is the most modular of Siedle’s entry stations, with a wide range of components to choose from. The faceplate in this product lines includes a painted aluminum trim ring with a set of functional modules offered in matching colors.
SIEDLE VARIO COLOR FINISHES
Siedle Vario is available in four standard colors including white, silver metallic, anthracite grey and micaceous dark grey. The micaceous paintwork finishes have an exceptional durability and longevity due to the micaceous iron ore particles embedded within the paint. These particles reflect and diffuse the light, creating an appearance that varies based on the presence of light and the angle from which it is viewed. It should be noted that these iron ore particles also introduce a slight texture to the surface, making the micaceous paint finish slightly less easy to clean than the standard paintwork finishes.
In addition to the standard four colors, Siedle Vario can be produced in any custom color corresponding to the European RAL color palette. The standard finish on all Siedle custom paint project is gloss silk matte). In addition, Siedle will attempt to produce a custom Vario color finish to match customer samples. This offers property owners and architects the chance to coordinate the door station perfectly with the relevant surround architectural feature. All paintwork finishes resist fading from sun and weather. Custom color matches typically increase the cost of a Vario entry station by 25%. A good RAL color reference website can be found here.
